Why to Choose Trek The Himalayas as Your Trekking Partner

Planning a trip is a great task in itself. Managing a trip for different individuals in various trekking regions simultaneously is more challenging than anyone can ever imagine.

Now, imagine getting your trip planned by a team that manages to execute a trekking trip that not only guides you throughout the trail, but also manages to provide you with all the facilities that elevate your experience, and make your outdoor experience comfortable too.

Before we dive deep into the topic, I have a question for you all.

What truly makes the trekking experience or journey unforgettable?

Why Trek The Himalayas stands out as Best Trekking Company in India | Safest Trekking Organization

We believe that it’s the scenery of the region, the safety during the trek, who is accompanying you, who is guiding you on the trail, and many other little things that you all probably don’t even notice, but play a crucial role in making your experience unforgettable.

That’s where Trek the Himalayas comes in, as being one of the safest trekking companies out there, these facilities aren’t just checkboxes we need to tick, they are the responsibilities and promises of ours that we are bound to fulfil.

As a trekking company, it’s our job to turn every penny you spend into the best experience in terms of safety, comfort, learning, guiding, and the memories that you will be creating for a lifetime.

So, without any further due, let’s dive into this article and understand what exactly makes choosing TTH is nothing less than an investment to have a richer, safer, and meaningful Himalayan experience. And who is the real value, real asset behind every experience you will be having with TTH?

Trek Operations & Support Team

Trek leader guiding trekkers through warm-up exercises during a winter trek

Every time you are in a place where you are not familiar with the region, and someone says that “ you don’t need to worry about anything, we've got you”, hearing that one sentence feels nothing less than a blessing from god.

In that moment, you realise ‘how important it is to choose a trekking company that ensures all your needs are met’. Investing and trusting in people who ensure to make your entire journey smooth, safe, and unforgettable.

As a trekker, you are bound to make a comparison between the itineraries, routes, prices, and facilities provided by an adventure company, but if you are familiar and fond of travelling around, then you will be able to understand the difference between going on a trek that has all the comfort and a trek that keep putting you through different challenges time to time.

And the most important thing to understand is who makes the difference between the two types of trekking experience? Well, it's the “people” who hold that much power to change your trekking experience from good to bad and from bad to good.

So, it is important to ask yourself that -

  1. How important is it to be guided by an experienced and trained trek leader during the trek?
  2. And how important is it to have nutritious and homemade food during the trek to gain energy?
  3. Or what crucial role does that one staff member play who silently carries an extra oxygen cylinder during the trek just in case someone needs it?

TTH strongly believes that investing in manpower is the heartbeat of the whole trekking experience. Every cent, every rupee you spend on this journey, most of it goes into assigning trained professional trek leaders to lead the treks. In fact, all the trek leaders we choose are safety and medical experts and know the region way too well. Then there are cooks, porters, supporting staff members, all those people who work around the clock to ensure that your journey feels effortless and extremely enjoyable to you.

Therefore, rather than relying on outside sources, we believe in relying and forming our team with the help of residents. Hence, to ensure your safety and the success of the trek, we provide a highly trained team of certain people that includes:

  • A Trek Leader with qualifications in courses like the Basic Mountaineering Course(BMC) and the Advanced Mountaineering Course (AMC).
  • They are also well-trained first aid responders and have more than 5 years of experience trekking in the Himalayas.
  • An Assistant Trek Leader will always be there to assist them during the trek.
  • An additional supporting team is always assigned at the campsite to carry out the logistics during the trek.
  • In the event of an emergency, for the sake of safety, we ensure that a rescue team is always available at the base camp of every trek.
  • An additional technical team that will always be ahead of the trekkers to analyse the route for them.

Also, not to forget that the staff-to-trekkers ratio completely depends on the number of trekkers who are part of the team. So, here is the complete list of the staff and trekkers ratio curated by TTH carefully.

Staff to Trekkers Ratio
8 Trekkers - 6 Staff 16 Trekkers - 8 Staff 24 Trekkers - 10 Staff

Important: All our trek leaders, guides, and additional staff are highly experienced and are well-trained first aid responders.

Emergency Equipment & Back Up Team

Image shows the emergency equipment including safety gears and first aid

Mountains, weather, and circumstances in life are always unpredictable. You never know what you might require or encounter during the trek, and in such moments, the importance of carrying emergency equipment and being assisted by a backup team, as well as surrounded by the trekking leader, who not only knows how to deal with such circumstances in the mountains but is also a well-trained first aid responder in the time of need can be understood by you all who are not equipped with such knowledge.

Apart from the backup team and trained leaders, emergency equipment is something all the trekkers rely on even without realising it. Like oxygen cylinders, high-altitude medical kits, stretchers, and communication devices, these are the necessary trekking gears that help in turning an uncertain situation into a controlled and calm one.

And this is exactly what you are paying for to enjoy your trip and receive all the facilities well prepared, organised, and a team of people assigned to you who treat your experience in their region as their top priority. Because believe us when we say this, that in your adventure, if you ever come across unexpected circumstances, you’ll be glad and always grateful that you chose a team that’s ready long before the journey begins.

Hence, we believe that going on a trek while being prepared in advance is a much better option than anything else. Therefore, keeping all kinds of possible circumstances in mind, we provide:

  • A proper medical kit is always present with all the trek leaders and the campsites too, for the safety of the trekker.
  • Apart from that, with each batch, two oxygen cylinders are always provided for high altitude. To operate and handle it, an additional supporting staff is always present with each batch.

Important: For the safe side, a stock of at least 10 to 15 oxygen cylinders is always stored at every trek's base camp.

Accommodation and Equipment Service

Accommodation provided by the Trek The Himalayas

Imagine going to the mountains to enjoy the scenic beauty of nature, walking on the snowy trails, and then at night enjoying stargazing while surrounded by the giant mountains.

Now, after experiencing all of this, and trekking throughout the day. All a person would want to do is take a proper rest to regain their energy for the next day.

And being able to get a perfectly concreted guest house equipped with all sorts of facilities and then set up camp where your tent is sturdy and spacious, while your sleeping bag feels like a warm hug in the Himalayan cold is very rare. That’s exactly what TTH strives to offer to all trekkers across every trekking region we cover.

Our core mission is to provide the best Himalayan experience to all our trekkers, and we take pride in consistently delivering on that promise. This dedication has earned us the title of “Best Adventure Tour Operator” at the Responsible Tourism Award 2025.

For us, providing equipment and accommodation for your comfort and safety is so much more than just making arrangements for your trip. We curate everything carefully to elevate your experience. So that you can enjoy all the comforts and facilities of a home, even while you’re on a trek, in the mountains.

We aim to provide you with a space that prioritises your comfort, rest, basic needs, and hygiene in an outdoor setting without making you stay in a tent right from the beginning of your journey. Therefore, for your stay during the trek, we offer:

  • A Guest House that includes a spacious room equipped with an attached clean washroom, proper ventilation, and proper backup (generator and solar).
  • To ensure that your luggage is safe while you are trekking, we also provide a cloakroom facility there to store the trekkers' luggage.

Food Provided by TTH During the Trek

Food on Treks with Trek The Himalayas | Healthy & Delicious Trek Meals

We are well aware that while trekking and hiking, maintaining energy is very important, and to do so, a proper, nutritious meal is essential, and we consider it our top priority. The food services and the menu that we have curated for you all are full of nutrients, cooked exactly like a homemade meal with all kinds of spices that are used in our homes, and most importantly, even after being in a remote area, we provide variety in the menu so trekkers enjoy their meal properly.

Therefore, when it comes to food, we prefer to take certain measures to ensure that our trekkers stay fit and healthy during the trek. Those measures taken by us are:

  • Firstly, rather than packed food, we prefer to provide our trekkers with fresh food prepared from high-quality locally sourced ingredients from authentic shops of that region.
  • From providing MDH spices to Ashirvaad wheat flour, we prefer to use high-quality raw materials to cook food. Hence, the food is full of nutrients and feels like a complete homemade meal.
  • From base camps to the highest campsite locations, a well-trained and experienced chef in high-altitude cooking is assigned at every trek.
  • Apart from this, TTH provides every kind of utensil. We believe that a trekker is there to experience the beauty of the mountain, not to carry utensils for themselves.
  • To keep the trekkers energised, we provide proper meals to our trekkers with a surprise dessert at night, as well as evening snacks throughout all the trekking days.
  • Keeping the hygiene of the trekkers in mind, an additional staff member is always present with the kitchen team to clean all the utensils.
  • To make the trek more enjoyable, we provide hot tea and rusks to all our trekkers when they reach the summit and enjoy the view.

Important: Many of our trekkers often belong to the Jain Community. Keeping that in mind, we ensure that the food prepared by the chef meets their standards and those of the rest of the trekkers as well.

Standing at the base of any mountain, while staring at the peak of that mountain. A lot is felt by a trekker, from feeling stunned, admiration, to a quick rush of adrenaline, to scared, and then self-doubting yourself, asking - Can I really do this? When a trekker starts climbing a mountain, it’s not just always about claiming the peak. Often, trekking is more about learning and getting to know the mountains. After getting familiar with the mountains, you start understanding the challenges the mountains carry within themselves, and then you start ascending accordingly.

The Ultimate Guide to Expedition Grades and Techniques

The Ultimate Guide to Expedition Grades and Techniquesred line

In general, trekking in the mountains is always categorised as either climbing or walking on the mountain trails. But what a lot of people don’t realise is that with each different grade of expedition, the techniques of climbing and walking on the mountains also change. The thing is that to climb some high grade of mountains, more than basic skills and techniques of climbing are required to learn. In fact, the ‘technical climbing’? It is not just for high-grade level mountain expeditions; this kind of technical knowledge is quite useful even in the easy graded expedition to ensure the safety of the trekker throughout their trek.

Why You Should Choose Trek the Himalayas Over Other Trekking Companiesred line

Planning a trip is not an easy task, and when it comes to the mountains, a lot of factors need to be considered from a trekker's perspective. And when you are surrounded by all the hustle and bustle of life, planning a trip seems like too much work, right? Well, that’s exactly where trekking companies come into the picture. Now, after deciding that you want a trekking company to plan your trek, it’s time for you to pick the best trekking company in India to curate the itinerary for you. See, in today’s time, there are so many trekking companies out there who are ready to plan, manage, and guide you at every step of your journey, but who is best among them? That’s the real question. As a trekker, you might have thought several times, " Which company will truly help you out to become prepared for the Himalayas? Will they keep safety, food, and things like hygiene as their priority? Or if you are a female trekker, will it be safe and comfortable for you to trek with them or not?” And so on. These are exactly those points that draw a true comparison between Trek The Himalayas (TTH) and other trekking companies, viewing things from a trekker’s lens.

Hydration Can Make or Break Your Trek: Trek Leader’s Tips for Every Seasonred line

The main highlight of any trek journey will always be either the places you get to explore or the views that you will get to witness only once in your life. But to explore and experience all that scenic beauty, you must remain safe and healthy, which can be possible only if you do the proper intake of nutrients, and most importantly, of all consume water in a perfectly adequate amount. It’s an obvious yet the most ignored fact that Hydration is very important for trekking, it’s like the backbone of the whole trip. Which is why every trek leader’s first question at the start or end of their trek is - How much water did you drink today? Half of the time, the pattern of the answer remains the same, where some of them just give sheepy smiles, some tell numbers but are in doubt, and some of them have no idea whether they have drunk it at all or not.
